WOOD-BURNING and HAT-BRANDING
Wood-burning is my most recent love in art mediums. I first tried it December of 2021 working on a miniature wood-slice Christmas ornament—I immediately wanted to explore this further. I did my first burning-artwork on Luan plywood planks from a wood barn and now want to work on different shapes, sizes, and types of wood. Since then, I have experimented with cross hatching as well as more abstract designs, really enjoying the versatility of this tool in my work.
The newest burning technique I picked up is hat-branding where I apply heat to suede or felt hats. I work on wide brim hats and ball caps.
